William Esparza

LA native William Esparza didn’t grow up seeking culture. He was creating it. At age 12, Will’s fascination with letterforms turned him into an urban scrawl, known through the LA graffiti scene; he designed album covers for Ice Cube, Snoop and the Eastsidaz. His approach and craft in design was refined at Art Center College of Design, which caught the attention of TBWAChiat Day and made him a part of the original MAL team. Soon he went to work for other top agencies such as Cutwater, Martin Agency and now R/GA Hustle.

At RGA Hustle, Esparza has been particularly instrumental in driving the agency's partnership with Apple's Beats. This partnership has delivered some of the most iconic work coming from a brand in recent years. The agency brought home a haul of nine Cannes Lions awards this year for its "Straight Outta Somewhere" meme generator, which allowed people to create their own NWA-style logos. More than 9 million memes were created, with everyone from The White House to other brands, such as Snickers, taking part.

William is a sought after creative leader who finds unique and relatable ways to work with up and coming talent. Since joining R/GA three years ago his approach along with the support from the R/GA network has led to an impressive body of work.

Will’s work has earned honors from Cannes, The One Show, D&AD, Clios, AICP, LIA, Creativity Magazine, Adweek, and The FWA. His work has also been featured in the New York Times, Huffington Post and Mashable. Will’s latest work is in the MOMA’s Museum Archive. William Esparza was most recently listed as one of Business Insider’s “30 most creative people in Advertising 2016.”

Jay is the Executive Creative Director of Huge L.A. where he oversees all creative output, from product all the way through to advertising. Before joining Huge, Jay worked with Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Boulder, London and Miami, most recently serving at the ECD of CP+B Miami.

Prior to CP+B Jay worked at The Monkeys, Sydney as Digital Creative Director, and in his three-year tenure helped the agency win six coveted Agency of the Year titles. His work at the agency redefined the capabilities of The Monkeys and turned them into one of the most digitally awarded agencies in Australia. Before The Monkeys, Jay completed an eight year stint at Agency Republic, London where he helped the agency win Digital Agency of the Year five times.

Over the course of his 17-year career, working across three continents, he has picked up over 100 awards, and unfortunately also picked up a dizzying array of accents and colloquialisms that his colleagues say make him almost unintelligible to the average human. Tally ho!

Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar

Sagar joined the advertising industry in India when it was the preserve of the Westernised, private school elites. In contrast, Sagar spent his childhood in a village, studying in a vernacular school. It was this vantage point that has given Sagar a voice unique from his peers.

Ogilvy is where he cut his teeth and then stayed on for more than a decade to emerge as one of the leading ECDs of India. Some of the most celebrated campaigns of that time owe their origins to his leadership. Ditto for the numerous awards and laurels that came Ogilvy’s way.

After Ogilvy, Sagar took hold of Y&R India’s creative output and reinvented some of the mightiest brands around. Achievements that were repeated in stints at Bates CHI&Partners, in India as Chief Creative Officer and in Singapore as a regional creative powerhouse.

In 2015 Sagar joined Cheil India as the Chief Creative Officer. No one was surprised when Cheil debuted in the Top 5 agencies of the Abbys, India’s premier ad awards, soon after. Under his leadership Cheil has recently produced one of the most popular digital films in India. 25 million views and counting.

Sagar is married with a wife and a lovely daughter. The time that he does not spend with them goes in updating his popular Instagram blog ‘Story in Four Frames’, a unique blend of technology, photography, art and, well, Sagar.

Simon Richings

Simon is the Creative Partner at AnalogFolk, a creative agency that uses digital to make the analog world better (which means always remembering people are emotional, analog beings, regardless of how slick the technology is). Clients include Sainsbury's, Costa, BT, Booking.com, PlayStation, Unilever, Lucozade, Dulux and a ton of other equally famous and exciting brands. Formerly, he was a creative (and then a CD, and then an ECD) at Tribal DDB, working on Guinness, Volkswagen, Hasbro, and The Guardian. Simon has won some of digital's biggest industry prizes (including multiple LIA trophies), and often tells people he is a copywriter, despite having begun his career as a print graphic designer. After a decade messing around with digital, he's reasonably confident that he's got away with it.
